Waves Swim School (founded 1998) provides swimming lessons to hundreds of customers across Bristol, and has developed an excellent reputation for its high standard of teaching. Waves have been providing quality swimming lessons in Bristol for over 25 years.

Our Swim Teachers

We have an experienced team of teachers, all holding ASA and RLSS qualifications, with full child protection and DBS coverage. We have a range of specialisms, to be able to teach swimmers and non-swimmers of all ages and abilities.

Our Lessons

We can offer one-to-one lessons for adults and children on request. Swimmers are continually assessed, and progress at a rate suited to their ability.

The Waves Team

Our experienced teachers are dedicated to providing well-planned and adaptable lessons. All of them are qualified to the highest standards and have been hand-selected for their suitability.

Lessons / Badges

Our commitment is to structure lessons around developing proper technique across all four strokes. Waves teachers will continually assess your child during each lesson, helping them to develop water skills and confidence at their own pace. Children can moved up to a more suitable class based on their ongoing performance during weekly lessons. Waves also hold a badge night three times a year, when we assess whether your child is ready to progress to the next level based on the Swim England badging syllabus.

Our Philosophy

Waves Swim School strongly believes that children benefit from learning to swim in a fun, safe and structured way. Our ‘Beginner’ and ‘Learn-To-Swim’ lessons are small (taking a maximum of 4 children), with each child receiving the attention they need to develop core skills at their own pace, assisted by teachers in the water. Following the ‘Beginner’ and ‘Learn-To-Swim’ classes, they will learn more technical stroke work in all four strokes, and develop stamina and good form.
